INDIA

  Dear Katie,

How are you? Have you already finished your exams?  I am great. I am writing to tell you all about the fantastic experience I have had.

The travel company “Explore Worldwide” awarded me the first prize in a recent competition and I was able to travel to any place I wanted. D o you know which place I chose?...India! And I am going to tell you all about it without missing any details.

I was so excited to go to India, it´s the place which I´ve always wanted to visit and never had the opportunity. The reasons why I´ve always wanted to visit that country are because I love exotic animals and here in Spain there are very few, also the thing that attracted me was that I love to study different cultures, to observe how they live, what they do, their religion and their customs and traditions..

I did a tour through nearly  all of India and in each place I visited I did different things, for example I went to see different temples, caves, forts and palaces which had beautiful paintings and really interesting history.

I went to many national parks to see India´s rich and fascinating variety of wildlife, I also visited really exotic beaches. The best journey I did was to Rajastan, a desert, which I visited on camel-back. To visit this place is the experience of a lifetime. Finally, I also had time to do adventure sports such as white water rafting in the rivers which flow from the icy heights of the Himalayas.

The place I was totally fascinated with was the Taj Mahal in the city of Agra.It had beautiful gardens with fountains and ornamental trees and inside was really amazing.

Also I really liked the Elephant caves. The temple which housed the Elephant monument was spread over 5000 square metres and you had to reach it by climbing at least 100 steps.

I would recommend anyone to go to India because it´s totally amazing and different from Europe.

It is impossible to get bored because of the great variety of activities you can do. If you have opportunity go. You won´t regret visiting India.

        Lots of love,

            Irene.

               Proposal for a new law

    Dear Sir,

I would like to express my opinion about the new proposal to raise the age at which we can learn to drive. I think it is a fantastic idea which would solve lots of problems and would have advantages for everyone.

At present, there are lots of accidents on the roads and the majority of them are caused by young people. This might be because they like driving faster and taking more risks without thinking about the consequences. They should wait until they are older to start driving.

If the age of driving were raised, young people would use much more public transport like the bus, or underground. This would help to reduce traffic in big cities and would also make young people  get used to other forms of travel, like cycling and walking, which are environmentally friendly forms of transport because they do not cause pollution and traffic congestion.

On the other hand, some seventeen-year-olds are much more mature and responsible than some people of thirty, but the problem is that if you make a new law, it is for everyone, not just for some.

In conclusion, I am sure it would bring advantages and would help in many different ways. I hope this new law comes into force.

    Yours faithfully,

        Patricia
